Existing walkway was 20 inch patio slabs with railway tie edging that was not tight, resulting in weeds in the gaps. It was also uneven and sloped and only used as access to the basement apt. Completed job cost $10K.

There is a public path running the length of the property, on other side of chain link fence, resulting in entire yard viewed by public, and consequently subject to theft. The slabs also made a triangle around the A/C making grass cutting difficult with the railway ties edging slightly higher.

Solved the problem by removing and relocating slabs to use under deck plus in and around back yard utility shed. Excavated to proper depth, supplied and installed mixed sizes of pavers in a charcoal and grey blend to accent the house siding and existing concrete foundation. The deck was enclosed with privacy screen and stair risers added to keep bikes, mower etc from temptation and storage out of site. Addition of a small bed for flowers and shrubs, eliminating need for grass cutting.

There was no patio area to entertain or watch children play in the pool etc. The existing walk was also on a slope, so 2 steps were added to level the grade to the top of the existing cement basement stairs.

The downspout drained into the middle of lawn and created a wet pit. The water was diverted underneath patio using solid PVC piping to drain towards property line. This also made a clean dry area for hanging the laundry.

Existing construction site, very windy rural location, front door actually on the corner with the exit only door in the middle of the long front wall…a design dilemma for sure!

The planters incorporated the downspout runoff for watering under the eaves, and were made on 45 angles to break up the long expanse. The vine covered lattice screens prevented the front door from continuing to blow off its' hinges and the planters and pavers created a welcoming entrance.
